Austrian Standards

• Publication of the new VDI Guideline 3877, Sheet 1 "Measurement of fibre dust that has settled on surfaces" is expected for end of 2009.
  
  This will be the world’s first standard concerned with the sampling and analysis of dust samples consisting of fibres such as asbestos, mineral fibres, etc.
  

• In June 2009, work on the new ÖNORM S 5730 "Erkundung von Bauwerken auf Schadstoffe und andere schädliche Faktoren" was concluded. The standard is expected to be released for printing in autumn 2009.
  
  This ÖNORM will be the first standard in the German-speaking countries to provide a systematic surveying procedure for harmful substances in building structures.
